Busselton Embraced the Beats
What an incredible celebration!
More than 100 people came together in Busselton for Embrace the Beats, filling the venue with music, dancing, laughter, friendship, and community spirit.
The event was created by Embrace Inclusion South West, with support from Advocacy WA and the wider community. From the beginning, the focus was on creating a space where people could feel welcome, comfortable, and free to be themselves.
The result was much more than a disco.
It was a celebration of inclusion and a reminder of what is possible when people with disability have the opportunity to lead, contribute their ideas, and shape the events happening in their community.
The dance floor was full throughout the event, but people could participate in whatever way worked for them. Some people danced all night, while others spent time talking with friends, enjoying the venue, meeting new people, or simply taking in the atmosphere.
Events like Embrace the Beats matter because everyone deserves opportunities to socialise, build friendships, enjoy live events, and feel part of their local community.
The success of the Busselton event belonged to everyone who helped create it. Thank you to the Embrace Inclusion South West team, the volunteers, supporters, venue staff, local organisations, and every person who attended.
With more than 100 people joining the celebration, Busselton showed that there is strong demand for inclusive and accessible social events across the South West.
We cannot wait to see where the beat takes us next.
