Roll with Support

Roll with Support

Accessible tabletop adventures for every adventurer

Run as part of D-Connect, Roll with Support brings people together to play, imagine, and tell stories side by side, with support built in from the very start.

This group recognises that traditional gaming spaces are not always accessible. Complex rules, fast pacing, social pressure, sensory overload, or assumptions about how people learn and communicate can create barriers. Roll with Support exists to remove those barriers, so everyone has the chance to play.

What is Roll with Support?

Roll with Support is a supported tabletop roleplaying session where accessibility is part of the design, not an afterthought.

Games are facilitated by disability aware Game Masters who understand both how to run engaging adventures and how to adapt play to meet different needs. Sessions are structured, flexible, and focused on fun rather than perfection or competition.

Whether you are brand new to tabletop games or have played before, you are welcome here.

What to expect on the night

Before the game begins, players arrive early to settle in and chat with the Game Master about anything that might help make the session enjoyable. This could include pacing, communication preferences, sensory needs, or rule simplifications.

Players are supported with
• Simplified character sheets and clear explanations
• Flexible rules and storytelling focused play
• A calm, respectful table culture
• Space to ask questions or take breaks as needed
• A welcoming environment where difference is expected

Games usually run as short adventures, so players can jump in without needing long term commitment or prior experience.

Who is Roll with Support for?

Roll with Support is for
• People with disability who want to try tabletop games in a supportive space
• People who love storytelling, imagination, and creativity
• Players who may need extra time, clearer instructions, or flexible play
• Anyone who has felt excluded or overwhelmed in traditional gaming spaces

You do not need to be an expert. You do not need to know the rules. You just need curiosity and a willingness to play.

Why Roll with Support matters

Tabletop roleplaying games are powerful tools for connection. They build confidence, communication, problem solving, and social skills, all while having fun.

Roll with Support is not about “fixing” players or lowering expectations. It is about changing the environment so people can participate fully, safely, and joyfully.

By creating accessible gaming spaces, Roll with Support helps people build friendships, express creativity, and feel a sense of belonging in their community.

Part of the D-Connect Circles

Roll with Support is one of the D-Connect Circles supported by Advocacy WA. Like all D-Connect Circles, it is community focused, inclusive, and shaped by the people who attend.

Each session contributes to a broader vision of making the South West the most inclusive and accessible region in Australia, one table at a time.
