Wishing Our Community a Safe and Supported Holiday Season

As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to wish everyone a safe and caring holiday season.

For many people, the end of year period brings a welcome chance to slow down and rest. For others, especially people with disability, this time of year can bring extra challenges. Changes to routines, reduced staffing, and limited service availability can make everyday life feel harder. Information can be more difficult to access, supports may feel less consistent, and communication can slow at the very time it is most needed.

Like many community organisations, Advocacy WA closes for a short period over the holidays. This time allows our team to rest, recharge, and look after their wellbeing after a year of walking alongside people through complex and often challenging situations. At the same time, we know that the need for support does not pause just because the calendar changes.

Access and inclusion do not take a break at the end of the year.

While our office is closed, we want to acknowledge and sincerely thank the crisis support services that remain available throughout the holiday period and all year round. These services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and play a vital role in supporting people and helping keep our community safe.
